Hi and welcome to my Newborn session information page. FAQ
Here is some of the information you will probably need before deciding to book a newborn session.
What type of newborn sessions do you have?
I offer family newborn and mini newborn sessions (baby only)
How much are the newborn session?
The newborn mini session is $325 + tax and includes 10 digital files with print release. The session lasts 90 minutes and is just for baby. In these sessions, the baby is wrapped to help him/her stay sleepy and content. I usually start my session with a beautiful all-white set for a timeless look and feel. Our second and third sets include baskets, bowls, and boxes for a great variety of textures and colours. Details like fingers and toes, lip and lashes are captured as well as beautiful close-ups and overview images which creates a lot of variety. I present 25 to 30 images in your gallery for you to choose from. Just take a peek at our Instagram page to see my latest props, colours, and textures.
The family newborn session is $475 + tax and includes 15 digital files and 5 archival prints (8×10 or smaller). These sessions last 2.5 to 3 hours and are for baby, baby’s sibling(s), parents. In this session, we start with the family and sibling portraits. The rest of the session is all about the baby. I will provide a selection of wrapped and naked images of the baby as well as close-ups and details of fingers, toes, lashes, lips, and more. I present 30 to 40 images in your gallery for you to choose from. Follow us on Instagram or Facebook to see my most recent work.
Studio or In home?
All my newborn sessions are done in my beautiful home studio in Cordova Bay. It’s easily accessible and lovely to use all year round. The space is kept very warm so that baby can stay cozy and sleepy. I use a combination of natural and studio lighting for a gallery filled with wonderful images.
Which days are you available?
My session days are Monday to Friday. I start my newborn sessions at 10am because the light in my studio is most beautiful at that time of the day.
What do I need to bring? Do you have outfits available?
I have all the props, wraps and newborn outfits in studio. All you need to do is bring baby and a snack for you! Easy peezy!
Can I bring a helper?
Yes! Feel free to bring a friend, a family member and spouse. The newborn sessions are so much fun to watch. You will fall in love with baby even more when you see how cute he/she looks all curled up in our baskets and bowls!
What is the ideal time for the newborn session?
I recommend photographing a newborn between 5 and 14 days old. This is when they are the smallest and sleepiest. They are also still comfortable being curled up and wrapped up.
My baby is already born, am I too late?
It’s never too late! I often photograph older babies 4 to 8 weeks old. Though they may be far more sensitive and not enjoy being curled up as much, they are still absolutely adorable and photogenic. One of the advantage of photographing a baby that is a bit older is you get much better eye contact and smiles.
Also, I sometimes have last minute schedule changes because of early/late babies so I have a waiting list available for last minute appointments. It never hurts to ask .
Do you offer more than digital files?
Yes, I am a full service photographer which means I have in-person order appointments available. I offer archival prints, custom wall art (canvas, metal, acrylic, framed) photo jewelry, custom designed albums (3×3 to 12×12) and more.
I’m ready to book, what’s the next step?
Call or email me so we can choose a day and time that works for you. I usually book for 1 week after you due date and as we get closer to that time, we readjust the actual session day as needed because babies show up when they are good and ready!
This is when I send you an online invoice and as soon as payment is confirmed, your spot is saved!
