A Mini session is so perfect when you have young children. You can capture their personality, get close ups and family photos without tiring them out.
It lifts a bit of the pressure when you do shorter photoshoots more often.
The truth is that family photoshoots can be stressful for parents. Sessions don’t always go smoothly and it’s impossible to predict what mood your toddler or child will be in that day.
Rather than put pressure on yourself and have your little one pick up on your anxiety, it will always be better to set realistic expectations of what your child can do and be at peace with imperfection.
In the end, a good photographer will always find the beautiful moments in the chaos that is family life and they will capture them with all the love and happiness you feel when you are with your loved ones.
My advice is to treat yourself to a yearly mini session rather than a full family session once every other year or five years or even longer!
